- Make some soup on an open fire…
- Make a tin can pot: Green Star A4, see Page 115-116 of The Cub Book
- Lay, light and safely put out a fire: Green Star A7
- Boil some water: Canadian Camper Award 5b
- Cook up some soup, hot chocolate: Green Star B2, Winter Cubbing Badge 5d, Cooking Badge 10,
- Some basic snacks and grilled cheese sandwich will also be made (probably in the cabin).
- Have a formal Camp fire!
MILLER LAKE MAINLAND Camp Rules and Map
From notice:
Miller Lake Scout Reserve; 100 Perrin Drive, Fall River
Drop off: Saturday 1:00 pm; Pump House Road gate, 100 Perrin Drive
Pick up: Saturday 8:00 pm; same location
Be prepared for possible cold or wet weather (or both) as this will be mostly outdoor activities.
Bring: A “day pack” (small backpack) with a simple change of clothes (just in case), plenty of warm layers for the day, winter hat and mitts/gloves, simple rain gear, winter boots, camp fire blanket (optional), spoon mug and a personal water bottle (filled). Please label all possessions!
Also, bring an empty coffee tin (or other large tin) to use as a cooking pot gadget (see page 115 of the Cub Book) if possible.
Directions to the camp:
Leaving E.P. take Pleasant Street turn onto the Circumferential Highway 111.
Take Airport Truro Exit 4N onto Highway 118.
Take EXIT 14-toward HWY-318/Fall River/Waverley/Wellington
Turn Right and proceed onto Perrin Drive and go until you reach Pump House Road across from the Dept of Highways garage.
(Do Not Turn down Scout Camp Road it takes you to Camp Lone Cloud!)
